Verizon kicks off December security patch for Galaxy Note 8 and Note 9

Big Red is on the roll now, started seeding December 2018 security patches for Galaxy Note 8 and Note 9 units on it’s network. The December 2018 security patch for Verizon Note 8/Note 9 brings improvements in various department of the system along fixes for known issues while securing the device firmware.

The December 2018 security patch for Verizon Note 8 arrives as build R16NW.N950USQS5CRK1 while Note 9 gets the update as build M1AJQ.N960USQS1ARJ9. The update is rolling out in the US and if you own any of the two devices then you are going to see the OTA notification anytime soon. You can manually update your device firmware by going to Settings > device details > System updates or follow the Kies method method.

Install December 2018 security patch for Verizon Note 8 / Note 9 via Kies

First You need to download Samsung Kies application. Download Kies

Install the application on your PC and Open it.

Connect your device to PC and wait for the Kies app to detect your device.

Now it’s essential to make a backup of your device by clicking on Backup and Restore tab in the Kies screen.

Once the backup process is done, just click firmware upgrade to start the update process.
