Today, shortly after Search giant released Android P beta 3 for it’s device, Essential has also started rolling out Android P Beta 2 with July security patch for Essential Phone PH-1. The update is rolling out now as we are writing this post, Android P Beta 2 for Essential Phone is arriving as build PPR1.180610.030 if you are already running Android P Beta 1.

For non beta tester, the update is released as build OPM1.180104.267 which is based on Android 8.1.0 Oreo. The update weighs in around 290.2MB and includes the latest July security patches, Android Auto fixes and lot more. The update is heading to the eligible devices, if you think your device is un-rooted then the OTA is heading to your phone anytime soon. If you think you got zero patience in your DNA then head to the process mentioned below.

Tap the Settings icon in the apps drawer.

In the Setting menu, head to the “About phone” section.

Now select tap on “System updates” and check for the available system updates.

Tap on Download if it notifies you of the update, and let is install automatically.

As we mentioned above that only stock un-rooted device is eligible for the update, don’t waste your device waiting for the OTA if your device is rooted, it will never gonna happen you need to switch to manual firmware installation.
