Android Pie Soak Test for Moto X4 is released – Build PPW29.69-17

Motorola released it’s all glass affordable smartphone ‘Moto X4’ in 2017 with Android 7.1 Nougat on board, later in the mid 2018 the device got updated to Android 8.1 Oreo. Now another major update hitting the Moto X4 units in India, the update arrives as build PPW29.69-17 that bumps the firmware version from Android 8.1 Oreo to Android 9.0 Pie.

The PPW29.69-17 update is currently available to download as a soak test and the stable roll out is expected to happen in a few weeks from now. The Android Pie Soak test for Moto X4 is live via OTA, you will be getting the OTA knock at your device anytime soon. In Pakistan, we have performed manual OTA check on our device but still it says the device firmware is update to date, that’s because of the regional delays and phase wise roll out.

It’s needless to mention that the Moto X4 Android Pie Soak test brings goodies of Android Pie including Adaptive Battery feature, App Actions, Adaptive Brightness, new features in Do Not Disturb mode, gesture-based navigation and a lot more. The OTA weighs in around 1.1GB, so you need to prepare storage for smooth download process. We have also mentioned the screenshots of the update and the manually process to get the OTA on your device if you are a newbie.

If you wish to update your device without waiting for the OTA just follow the steps below.

Download Android Pie Soak Test PPW29.69-17 OTA for Moto X4

Tap the Settings icon in the apps drawer.

In the Setting menu, head to the “About phone” section.

Now select tap on “System updates” and check for the available system updates.

Tap on Download if it notifies you of the update, and let it install automatically.

As we mentioned above that only stock un-rooted device is eligible for the update, don’t waste your device waiting for the OTA if your device is rooted, it will never gonna happen you need to switch to manual firmware installation.

Note: If you get OTA update right on your device, then before installing the update it is mandatory to charge your device minimum at 60% to avoid shut down. Good Luck 🙂
