Xperia XZ2 Premium gets Bokeh and Monochrome mode in a new 51.1.A.12.27 update

Xperia XZ2 Premium is the latest flagship device from Japanese tech giant Sony. The device hit the shelves last month and now it’s getting the first system update from the manufacturer that adds most wanted camera modes in the camera app. The new update is rolling out via OTA as build 51.1.A.12.27, that adds Bokeh and Monochrome mode in the camera app, allows you to capture images with blur background and even using single monochrome sensor to capture photos in monochrome mode.

Apart from the above added features, the update also installs latest monthly security patch dated as August 01, 2018. Brings stability improvements and some Sony specific security fixes. You can more details about the firmware below.

Download 51.1.A.12.27 FTF August 2018 OTA for Xperia XZ2 Premium

Currently the update is rolling out via OTA so we recommend you to get it on your device via manually check for the OTA.

Tap the Settings icon in the apps drawer.

In the Setting menu, head to the “About phone” section.

Now select tap on “System updates” and check for the available system updates.

Tap on Download if it notifies you of the update, and let it install automatically.

Note: If you get OTA update right on your device, then before installing the update it is mandatory to charge your device minimum at 60% to avoid shut down. Good Luck!
