Just a few weeks ago, Motorola seeded Android 8.1 Oreo based soak test for Moto G5S Plus that brought a few improvements along July security patch and some stability improvements. Now here is another Android 8.1 Oreo based soak test update for Moto G5s Plus, this time the update moves the build from OPS28.65-14 to OPS28.65-29 and brings in August 2018 security patch with a stability improvements and bug fixes. This is the 4th Soak test update released for the same device in a few days gap.
The new update arrives as build OPS28.65-29 and is rolling out via OTA as we are writing this post. At this point users were expecting the stable release but it’s good to see the company is working to push it’s firmware towards the stable side. We recommend you to get these updates on regular bases. If you have already enrolled for the Motorola Feedback Network then you’ll be getting the Oreo OTA on your Moto G5S Plus anytime soon. Download Android 8.1 Oreo OPS28.65-29 OTA on Moto G5S Plus
Sign in with your Account in the Motorola Feedback Network or signup if you are new user. Once you signed in just follow the instructions below to update Oreo on your device.
Tap the Settings icon in the apps drawer.
In the Setting menu, head to the “About phone” section.
Now select tap on “System updates” and check for the available system updates.
Tap on Download if it notifies you of the update, and let it install automatically.
As we mentioned above that only stock un-rooted device is eligible for the update, don’t waste your device waiting for the OTA if your device is rooted, it will never gonna happen you need to switch to manual firmware installation.
Note: If you get OTA update right on your device, then before installing the update it is mandatory to charge your device minimum at 60% to avoid shut down. Good Luck 🙂
