Finally after a long wait Sony’s flagship, Xperia 10 II are now receiving Android 12 update from it’s Japanese manufacturer. The firmware was first reported by a user on Reddit, and now it’s finally here. Last month Sony rolled out the same update for Xperia 1 III and this time two more models are getting it now. The update is rolling out at the time we are writing this post. Talking about the firmware, the stock Android 12 update for Xperia 10 II is available to download as build 59.2.A.0.422 further comes with April 2022 security patch and goodies of Android 12.

This is a stable Android 12 build which is rolling out for all devices around the Globe, the update brings system wide improved dark interface, better privacy control, new Gesture Navigation, rounded interface, Adaptive Battery and Brightness, app actions based on the current context, redesigned volume adjust settings and a lot more. As it is a major jump from Android 11 to Android 12, the update weighs around 2.5 GB in size. Before you begin the installation process, your phone’s battery should be charged up to 60%.
Create a safe backup of your data.
Process to install Android 12 update on Xperia devices via OTA
Currently the update is rolling out via OTA so we recommend you to get it on your device via manually check for the OTA.
Tap the Settings icon in the apps drawer.
In the Setting menu, head to the “About phone” section.
Now select tap on “System updates” and check for the available system updates.
Tap on Download if it notifies you of the update, and let it install automatically.
Note: If you get OTA update right on your device, then before installing the update it is mandatory to charge your device minimum at 60% to avoid shut down.
