Android 7.1.1 Nougat is out for Nexus 6, an upgrade for the devices stuck on Android 7.0

The 2014 device Nexus 6 is once again getting a new update from Google. The update doesn’t brings anything new or improved, the only new thing noticed so far is the baseband version that has gone to MDM9625_104670.31.05.45R to MDM9625_104670.31.05.51R and build number N8I11F. Apart from it nothing is new even the security patch level is same that is dated as October 1, 2017.

The new update is based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat that is rolling out via OTA as we speak, both factory images and OTA’s are available to download as well. This update is useful for only those user who haven’t upgraded to Android 7.1.1 from Android 7.0. The update weighs in size ranging from 344 MB to 911 MB for various carriers.

Manually update Android 7.1.1 Nougat N8I11F on Motorola Nexus 6 via OTA

The update is heading to the eligible devices, if you think your device is un-rooted then the OTA is heading to your phone anytime soon. Head to the process mentioned below.

Tap the Settings icon in the apps drawer.

In the Setting menu, head to the “About phone” section.

Now select tap on “System updates” and check for the available system updates.

Tap on Download if it notifies you of the update, and let is install automatically.

As we mentioned above that only stock un-rooted device is eligible for the update, don’t waste your device waiting for the OTA if your device is rooted, it will never gonna happen you need to switch to manual firmware installation.

Note: If you get  update right on your device, then before installing the update it is mandatory to charge your device minimum at 60% to avoid shut down. Good Luck 🙂
