Finally after a long wait LG has started rolling out Android 12 update for LG Velvet in Korea. The firmware was first reported by a GSMArena, and few leaked screenshots follow the story. Currently the Korean variants are getting the update but soon European market is the next. The update is rolling out at the time we are writing this post. Talking about the firmware, the stock Android 12 update for LG Velvet is available to download as build G900N30b whereas the European LG Velvet get the update as build LM-G900EM30b further comes with January 2022 security patch and goodies of Android 12.
If you are already running Android 11 firmware then you will be getting the new update via OTA anytime soon. We have also posted the manual update process to install the Android 12 KZD for LG Velvet via LG flashtool and LG firmware updater.

This is a stable Android 12 build which is rolling out for all devices around the Globe, the update brings system wide improved dark interface, better privacy control, new Gesture Navigation, rounded interface, Adaptive Battery and Brightness, app actions based on the current context, redesigned volume adjust settings and a lot more. As it is a major jump from Android 11 to Android 12, the update weighs around 2.5 GB in size. Before you begin the installation process, your phone’s battery should be charged up to 60%.
Create a safe backup of your data.
Process to install Android 12 update on LG devices via OTA
Currently the update is rolling out via OTA so we recommend you to get it on your device via manually check for the OTA.
Tap the Settings icon in the apps drawer.
In the Setting menu, head to the “About phone” section.
Now select tap on “System updates” and check for the available system updates.
Tap on Download if it notifies you of the update, and let it install automatically.
Note: If you get OTA update right on your device, then before installing the update it is mandatory to charge your device minimum at 60% to avoid shut down.
Process to install manually Android 12 update on LG Velvet via LG UP
The update is available to flash via LG UP, just get the update from the link below and flash it using LG UP.
Download LG UP tools from USB Driver page.
Once you successfully downloaded the file just head to the guide and follow instruction to install the stock Android 12 KDZ via LG UP and Flash tool.
