Nokia 3 gets Android 8.1 upgrade with December 2018 patch [V4.42D]

Nokia has just started seeding it’s entry level smartphone Nokia 3 with the latest Android 8.1 Oreo upgrade along December security patches and other tweaks. The Android 8.1 Oreo for Nokia 3 arrives as build V4.42D, weighs in around 1.8GB, the change log of the update is also posted below as a screenshot.

Other than the upgrade from Android 8.0 to 8.1, the update brings revamped power menu, new Settings, battery indicator for Bluetooth connected devices, and improved system stability. As mentioned above the December 2018 security patch accompanied the upgrade too.

How to get December 2018 Oreo V4.42D OTA on Nokia 3

The update is rolling out now at the time of writing, you can download the Oreo V4.42D OTA directory and install it manually on your phone but that’s the matter of time until we get our hands on the firmware file. One more thing don’t get impatient to get the OTA right away on your device because depending upon regional delays the update’ll take some days to reach all users.

If you are already running Android Pie beta, head to Settings > About phone > system updates. Check for the new updates if available, non beta users must check via same method.
