Finally after a long wait Sony’s flagship, Xperia 1 II is now receiving Android 11 update from it’s manufacturer. The device was released in Feb 2020 with Android 10 on board, the company intended to release the Android 11 update later, now it seems the time has come, the update is rolling out at the time we are writing this post. Talking about the firmware, the stock Android 11 update is available to download as build 58.1.A.0.926 & 58.1.A.0.921 further comes with December 2020 security patch and goodies of Android 11.
The update brings Cinema Pro app that adds support for 4K HDR 120fps video, Photo Pro app adds new MR Mode, there’s 5G+4G dual SIM dual standby support and Wi-Fi and hotspot can be used at the same time. This is a stable Android 11 build which is rolling out for all devices around the Globe, the update brings system wide dark interface, better privacy control, new Gesture Navigation, Adaptive Battery and Brightness, app actions based on the current context, improved Dark Mode, redesigned volume adjust settings and a lot more. As it is a major jump from Android 10 to Android 11, the update weighs around 1.5 GB in size.
