Google is rolling out a new feature for Chrome on Android, allowing users to move the address bar from the top to the bottom of the screen. Here’s what you need to know:
A Feature Long Available on iOS: This capability has been a staple for iOS users, but now Android users can enjoy the same convenience.
Why It Matters: With larger phone screens, reaching the top of the device can be cumbersome. The new option makes the address bar more accessible, especially for one-handed use.
How to Move It:
Long-press the URL space in the address bar.
Select “Move address bar to bottom” from the options.
No Mandatory Change: Users who prefer the top-positioned address bar can keep it there. Google is not enforcing this new layout.
Rollout Timeline: The feature is expected to start appearing today, but it may take a few weeks to reach all users.
