How to enable YouTube PIP Mode without YouTube Red subscription

Before you begin:

Install Google Chrome browser from Google Play.

Your device must be running Android 8.0/8.1 Oreo.

Early preparations:

Open Settings app from the app drawer or other.

Choose Apps & Notifications from the menu.

 

At the bottom tap on Special App Access.

Now select Picture-in-picture.

Choose Chrome and enable the toggle to ‘Allow picture-in-picture’ for Google Chrome.

Process to enable YouTube PIP Mode without YouTube Red on Android

Open Google Chrome browser on your Android device and Open YouTube Website.

At the top right tap on the three dots to open menu.

Check the Desktop site option and YouTube interface should be seen like this. (as shown).

Now go back and play any video of your choice and then press full-screen icon on the video playback window.

Now you need to press the Home button on your device while the video is playing, and the YouTube Picture in Picture mode should start working on your device.
