October 2018 security patch for Moto G6 Play – Build OCP27.91-150

Motorola started seeding latest monthly security patch for the Moto G6 Play units around the globe. The Moto G6 Play October 2018 security patch is released as build OCP27.91-150 which brings updated security patches to ensure the security of the device. The screenshot the recent update is posted above you can see more details on it.

The new update is rolling out as we speak and it will hit every device around the globe in a few days. The October 2018 for Moto G6 Play based on Android Oreo but doesn’t bring anything major to discus except latest security patch. It is always recommended to keep your device updated regarding firmware updates.

If you wish to update your device without waiting for the OTA just follow the steps below.

Download October 2018 OCP27.91-150 OTA for Moto G6 Play

Tap the Settings icon in the apps drawer.

In the Setting menu, head to the “About phone” section.

Now select tap on “System updates” and check for the available system updates.

Tap on Download if it notifies you of the update, and let it install automatically.

As we mentioned above that only stock un-rooted device is eligible for the update, don’t waste your device waiting for the OTA if your device is rooted, it will never gonna happen you need to switch to manual firmware installation.

Note: If you get OTA update right on your device, then before installing the update it is mandatory to charge your device minimum at 60% to avoid shut down. Good Luck 🙂
