Official Oreo update hits US Cellular Galaxy S8 and S8+

Finally after a long wait, Oreo update is heading towards Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus phones bonded with US Cellular Network. Back in March when four out of five major US carriers including AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile started rolling out Oreo update for their respective Galaxy S8 devices, the devices on US Cellular had not seen any update. Now it seems the wait is finally over, first Android 8.0 Oreo OTA is released for US Cellular Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus devices in the US. Although the update is released after two months but that should be an issue because “better late then never”, the update is here.

The update not only updates the OS version from Android 7.0 Nougat to Android 8.0 Oreo but also packs in great new features and functions. The Oreo OS brings, Picture In Picture mode that Allows you to see two apps at once, it’s like having super strength and laser vision, Auto-fill Script that allows you to remember your passwords and words and then fill it when needed, booting and apps installation speed is improved now, Notification channel that helps you sort notifications based on priorities, Smart Selection and much more.

Oreo for US Cellular Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus

The US Cellular Galaxy S8 is getting the official Oreo update as build G950USQU3CRD4 while Galaxy S8 Plus is receiving it as G955USQU3CRD4. The update is on the full fledged roll out that means every user will get the update on it’s device depending on the regional delay. If you think the patience level is out of control, head to Settings >> About Device >> System updates, now tap on the check for new updates. It will tell you on the spot if the new update is available for your device.

Note: OTA update will on strike stock un-rooted devices, if you think you own a rooted device then you better switch to manual update process via Odin.
