Finally Unlocked Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge units have started receiving Android 8.0 Oreo firmware in the US. Most of the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge device on Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile have already got it a few months back. This is because the software has to be optimized to work on all devices regardless of specific carriers, but as we know better late then never, finally the update is here. The Unlocked Galaxy S7 SM-G930U receives the update as build G930UUEU4CRG2 while the Unlocked Galaxy S7 Edge will receive the Oreo update as build G935UUEU4CRG2.
Official Oreo for Unlocked Galaxy S7/S7 Edge comes with Samsung Experience 9.0, Picture in Picture Mode, Auto-fill, revamped Settings menu, notifications shade, smart view, new features in keyboard and a lot more. The OTA is now live as we are writing this post but great news is that you can download the firmware tar file from the links below and start updating your device manually via Odin without waiting for the OTA.
